This land map of the US was prepared by the Industrial Removal Office. A movement to disperse Jewish immigrants throughout the US from 1900-1917. It was founded & financially supported by the Baron de Hirsch fund and B'nai B'rith. It sought to persuade & assist workers to leave the congested immigrant districts of the East Coast, for smaller cities where Jewish communities existed & a variety of Jobs were available. (EJ 8:1363).

1878-1965. Born in Tyumen Russia. Immigrated to NYC as a boy. Lived on the Lower East Side, Jacob Epstein was a neighbor and close friend. 1906 studied in Paris for 2 years. Painted assiduously until 1930's when his eyesight failed. Style ranges from romanticism to abstract art. Drawings & watercolors painted between 1900-1917. Slight soiling to covers & edges.
